About Me

I believe that beauty is all around us. I'm simply hoping to catch it in life's fleeting moments.

With my photography, I am looking to add value to people's lives through visual storytelling.

Fun Fact:  I'm a third-generation photographer. My grandfather had his own Photo Studio in Deolali, India. My Dad is an avid bird-photographer. He is also the official photographer for the Carnival in Curaçao. I'm the apple that didn't fall too far from the tree.

My Story

One day in 2011, I got a message from my best friend asking if I had an Instagram account. I responded, "Isn't Facebook enough?" He said,  "Facebook is 2008, Instagram is the now." That day I created an account and was introduced to a world of pictures.

Getting on Instagram made me want to take photos. Not just any photos would do, I wanted to take high-quality, aesthetically pleasing ones. Thus began a pursuit of capturing visually appealing images.

Instagram ignited the fire. Film school at the University of Miami helped craft the technique. They taught me framing, lighting, and composition. The theory was helpful but I got to put it all in practice as a member of the UMiami Photography Club.  We experimented with abstract images, long exposure shots, and astrophotography.

A camera was wrapped around my shoulder ever so frequently and it was my landlord who took notice. He hired me to take pictures of his beach house - my first professional gig.

As I go along this journey, I’m always reminded of a friend of mine. She’s a photography enthusiast. And she had this big poster that was a collage of her best and favorite pictures. It was personal, it was artistic, and if there was one word I could use to describe it...it was magnificent. One day I hope to have the same for myself.

Until then, I’m chasing after the stars, finding beauty in expressions, and trying to capture the most beautiful sunsets.

Today...

I reside in Willemstad, Curaçao - a UNESCO protected World Heritage site. Amidst blue seas, tranquil beaches, and colorful buildings, I'm looking to capture people and places in the best light on one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
